Coastal Carolina started down its road to a Big South title by defeating VMI 87-78 on Thursday night. This was the first Big South game of the season for the Chanticleers, who have already defeated Clemson and LSU this season.
The game was never really close, with the Chanticleers leading throughout and having a lead of 18 points at one point. Four Chants ended the game in double digits in points. Raffa led the way with 23. Sam Mclaurin pulled down 15 rebounds and Gradnigo led Coastal with 7 assists.
Coastal takes on Liberty at Kimble Arena Saturday.
