[SHON-ti-kleer] The Chanticleer is a proud and fierce rooster who dominates the barnyard with splendor and looks, he is feared and mightily respected by all.
On November 5th, 2004 at 12:56:48 PM I discovered a little website known as CoastalFans.com, a newly launched college sports forum with around 35 members. Just over 5 years later, I get the chance to proudly present you with a new design layout for a site that now has over 106,000 Posts in 7237 Topics by 757 Members.
In the past 5 years I’ve had the chance to storm the field after upsetting JMU, Furman and Winthrop, I’ve seen an arena developed, undeveloped and developed (under a new project) again, a fieldhouse (almost) built, the rise and fall of our football and men’s basketball teams, our baseball team rise to the top of the national ranks, four football players, a golfer and a handful of baseball players join the professional ranks, our best kicker become our best reporter, tailgating at Baseball games improve, tailgating at Football games decline, our school spirit organization disappear, and I’m sure a number of other important milestones that I can’t recall at this time.
All of these things (good and bad) have helped shaped my time spent here in college and make me proud to be a part of a website that represents a University that I am damn proud to be a part of. Thank you for allowing me the chance to re-design a site that you all spend so many hours (even days) of your life being a part of. I hope you enjoy it!
